Is America more obsessed with the royal wedding than Britain?

Prince William and his bride-to-be, Kate Middleton, may be England's future king and queen but, as NBC's Lee Cowan reports, Americans seem to be the most excited about next spring's royal wedding.

Ok Americans.

Go ahead and get yourselves into a tizzy over the royal wedding.  Wonder why the Brits don't care as much?  Because in the rest of the world, infidelity by the royals isn't as taboo as it is here in the US and is still seen as a political stategy to a degree.  If it is discovered years down the road that William has/had a mistress don't go bashing him like you did Charles.  They never asked for your attention in the first place so try not to act so "let down" when they don't live up to your fairy-tale standards of marriage.

It seems like the US is more into the wedding because the MEDIA is jamming it at us  from sides and we can't get away from it.

yeah, don't really care, it's the media that's hyping it because they don't understand the majority of the serious issues at hand.

Boy do they have it wrong. If they would read the news media's message boards, like GMA's, they would see that every time they talk about William and Kate, it lights up with "who cares." If they didn't talk about them, nobody would ask them to.

Oh for pete's sake. Ok, I'm a Yank and I'm a bit excited about it, and yes there are many more serious issues to be dealt with on the planet, but what about the notion of some fun, GOOD news for a change? Instead of the plethora of bombings/shootings/murderings? To my eyes, they like (dare I say love?) each other (they've known each other for years), they appear to be happy (what woman wouldn't be happy marrying in to a wealthy family to a man that's handsome, intellegent, articulate and gainfully employed?) Not to mention they're young and handsome? (both of them) And I persnally think that the understated Brits are excited about it, the entire country stands to gain major $$ in tourist trade; what shop keeper won't be happy about that? Not to mention the British vendors this side of the pond. Comerce is a good thing, and if a happy, beautiful couple bring in a much needed flow of commerce to their country in need of a 'shot in the arm', is that a bad thing? Move on folks.
