There was some tough competition – Daniel Day-Lewis, Simon Cowell, Elton John – but Prince William snagged a solid spot on British GQ’s Best-Dressed List 2011.
The dapper prince came in at No. 27, two notches above actor Jude Law, but one rank below Romeo Beckham… soccer star David Beckham’s 8-year-old son. The newly engaged royal also came in below his own brother, Prince Harry, whose style was praised for the fact that he ''looks good because he really doesn't care.”
Of the elder prince, GQ said ''Prince William is following in his father's footsteps as a great ambassador for British style.'' (This year, Prince Charles did not make the list, but Prime Minister David Cameron was listed at No. 20.)
Rapper Pharrell Williams was a bit more enthusiastic about William’s fashion, specifically his British influences: ''I like it when Prince William goes dandy. He's got all the proper wardrobe when they do the hunting thing. They kill that!''
