Royal wedding now a children's toy

Elc.co.uk

Looking to get your little one interested in the royal wedding? Then consider purchasing the “HappyLand Royal Wedding” set by Britain’s Early Learning Centre!

The cute miniature doll set, available in March, promises “hours of fun” for kids ages 18 months to four years. Included are all the main players: The Queen, Prince Phillip, William, Kate, mounted royal guard, royal driver, horse-drawn carriage and the royals’ “favourite Corgi.”

One thing missing? The car that will drive Kate to the nuptials.

Now they indoctrinate their children into the farce of Kings and Queens? Sad that so many Brits hold reverence for their monarchy when in reality, it has been these "blue-blooded royals" who have amassed their country's wealth for centuries while doing little for the "commoners."

The tremendous wealth and property owned by these royal goons is nauseating. Can you imagine if our U.S. presidency came with such riches and claimed a divine right to rule? Hah! It's time the sheep stood up for themselves and booted these pompous asses.

There is nothing special about their "bloodline." What a hoot to hear rumblings about William marrying a commoner. Gee, will they still curtsy to Kate?

    So cute!

To the first poster, the Crown Estate is no longer owned by the monarchy and its net income goes to the people. The monarchy runs off the Civil List, which is approved by Parliament. Considering the Queen is the head of state, this seems appropriate. Especially when the royals bring in more money than they cost and have dedicated themselves to the service of the country. Queen Elizabeth and her family visit and receive foreign heads of state and are patrons to hundreds of charities and take part in several hundreds of events each year.

Honestly, I think it would be nice to have a stable, apolitical head of state. Wasn't it awesome having Dubya represent us around the world for 8 years? Yeah....

The dolls don't look a thing like them - pity.

As for Dubya 'representing' us. good god. I'll take the Queen any day.

It's completely inaccurate, seeing as Kate and William will be going by car and not carriage. I wonder if they're the same scale as the Lego Star Wars toys.  I can see someone doing a stop-motion video with William  Skywalker rescuing Princess Kate from the villainous Emperor Pompadour. // And I think it's good that  William is marrying a "commoner"--what a demeaning term---because it's introducing a fresh genetic infusion into the Royals' anaemic bloodline.

I'd buy one, they are really cute. People shouldn't take it so seriously!

nice toys, it makes me wanna be a kid and play with it. Kinda mean to have only one horse...it is not right like that. must have more horses, like an addon. That is how one should sell "royalty" in a toy. Of all the addon to do, just making room for more horses is enough.

Love it.. it is a childrens toy and hopefully children will remember this moment in history and if they are too young to remember the event itself they will remember their toys! Very cool!

I'm with you, jmk. They are fun, meant to bring enjoyment and little girls, especially, can be pretend princesses. There is too little time for children to act like children. Lighten up world. This earth needs a good wedding to lift the spirits around the world.

LOVE IT!!! Tried to preorder it from ELC, but they do not ship to US. Maybe enough demand for this unique item will change that policy.

I emailed them about shipping to the US, they said no, but to check their US distributors. I didn't see any offering for a pre-order on this.

Was actually able to get one for my daughter. My cousin who lives in England will be getting it in March and then bringing it over to my parents. Can't wait to see it as I think it is really cute but I do wonder what happened to Prince Charles.
