Is Kate the coupon-clipping people’s princess? The sensible fashionista repeatedly shows she loves a bargain — she was recently spotted sifting through the sales racks at Peter Jones, a British department store. According to Hello! magazine,a saleswoman said: “Kate's been a PJ customer for years and she's told us that she'll continue to come here when she's married to William."
In the last few weeks, Kate has proven that she’s not one to waste precious pounds. She shops at mass stores, passed on an expensive royal carriage ride to her upcoming nuptials, decided to live without servants, dug into her own closet for her official engagement photo shoot and even did her own makeup.
If Prince William can snag an endorsement deal from Rogaine, perhaps Kate can be the face of Loehmann’s?

Good for her, she doesn't shell out more money than she needs to in order to look good. I am curious about that Topshop dress though, I am surprised you didn't include the price.
I would not have given up the carriage ride though.... But good for her. Seems like she and Michelle Obama shop at some cute stores.
I believe that if the wedding is in April and London weather being what it is she made a great decision. Although a carriage ride is tradition she can start a new one with a limo ride-White Royces are always nice with gold trim.
They did include the price silly..........do you READ? $78

Obama has nothing to do with this story. The girl is shopping in England, not Kmart.
I'd skip the carriage too! Cold, wind, maybe rain? Even in good weather, riding in a slow, open carriage to the church is a sure way to increase the pre-ceremony jitters. Plus, hair & costume more easily mussed.
Ride the Rolls for the last bit of private time before the Big Show.
I'd hardly consider $78 for a dress to be a bargain. That's 2 weeks worth of groceries for me. Wear a 20 dollar dress from Wal-mart and call *that* a bargain.
For a woman who's future husband is the 2nd in line for the throne of England, $78 is the same as Goodwill.
Just why do we care what she wears, where she shops; I mean really - She's a lovely woman and if she wants to wear stuff from a charity shop, so what? At least she's not dressing like Gaga - (a meat dress?!) Bottom line, she gets to go home to a real life prince, who's not bad looking and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. Good things come to those who wait.
