A wax figure of Britain's Prince William.
He’s tall, dreamy, famous... and best of all, won’t talk back? He really is Prince Charming!
Meet the life-sized waxwork of Prince William — complete with a sapphire engagement ring affixed to its arm — created by American artist Jennifer Rubell. (It’s now official: Americans really are more obsessed with the royal wedding.)
Rubell said she created this realistic piece of art to help wannabe princesses live out their unrealistic dreams of snagging royal in-laws. “I think it's a feeling that a lot of women have,” Rubell said in a Reuters interview. "The way a man might fantasize about winning the lottery, women might fantasize about marrying Prince William — it's a similar fantasy of security," she said.
If you, like other wannabe royals, are indeed looking to live in denial with a fun photo opp, you can visit the "Engagement" exhibition at the Stephen Friedman Gallery in London until Mar. 5, 2011.

Ugliest wax figure ever. Doesn't look much like Wills at all. Mouth is especially small and rounded. Yuck. Wouldn't want my photo taken with this.
Doesn't look like him at all in my opinion. Since when has Prince William touted a neck and jaw thicker than his cranium???
Doesn't look like Prince William at all - though Bugs Bunny might feel like he's found a long-lost relative. Twelve year old girls might fantasize about marrying a "real" prince - but I can say with clarity that most young ladies with a brain and ambition bigger than a thimble (whether American or British) are not sitting home wishing they were marrying William....especially to gain "royal in-laws!" And if anyone is actually pining away their days in hopefull delirium of marrying a royal as Ms. Rubbell suggests - they certainly want the 'real deal' and not the bad likeness of a man carved in wax! Me thinks Ms. Rubbell is living out her own idiotic fantasy while trying to suggest that many other women want to ride her wave of insanity. Sorry to be the one to hold a mirror in front of your face, Ms. Rubell, but you and your "wax" prince are sailing on that boat all by yourselves!
