As if debunking royal wedding rumors wasn’t hard enough, it seems James Blunt thinks a few "jokes" wouldn’t cause any harm. Yesterday, it was reported that the singer snagged a surprising gig at Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials – an honor only slightly above a wedding usher.
“I'm actually playing," Blunt told Italian news channel SkyTG24. "I'm not singing, I'm playing the church organ there."
However, after several news outlets jumped on the news, Blunt’s representative clarified his statement, explaining that the “You’re Beautiful” singer was only kidding around. In fact, he’ll be nowhere near the royal wedding on April 29 – he’ll be on tour in the U.S.
Not sure who we can blame here (reckless celebrities? An insufficient sense of humor? Reporters immune to sarcasm?) but either way, let’s hope this is the last of the royal wedding musician gossip. We need some facts – preferably about Paul McCartney.
