Has royal memorabilia hit an all-time sugar high?

A jelly bean featuring what looks like Kate Middleton's face will be up for auction on eBay, with the lucky owner setting the bid price at a whopping $817 (£500). According to the U.K.'s Telegraph, Wesley Hosie, 25, and his girlfriend Jessica White, 24, of Somerset, England, found the unlikely mango-flavored treat in a jar hailing from Dublin’s The Jelly Bean Factory, where the sweets are handmade. The couple was struck by its blotchy royal resemblance and decided to cash in on the opportunity.

"Given that the royal wedding is only a few weeks away, we hope to make a few pounds out of it by selling it on the Internet to a collector," he told the Telegraph.

He's not the only one. While not everyone can be lucky enough to stumble upon bizarre celebrity-inspired candies, plenty of folks are selling everything from royal wedding condoms to Kate Middleton-inspired beer.
